Jamie's WRX Transformation
Jamie's WRX Transformation: Tackling Rust and Upgrading Performance
Jamie brought his fabulous WRX to us recently, facing some pesky rust issues that needed immediate attention. As passionate car enthusiasts, we were excited to dive into this project and not just address the rust but also enhance the overall performance and security of Jamie's beloved vehicle.
Rust Repair: Front Lower Radiator Panel and Bumper Bar
The most pressing issue was the front lower radiator panel, which had suffered extensive rust damage and was nearly gone. We removed the old, rusted panel and expertly welded in a brand-new replacement, ensuring that Jamie’s WRX would be back in peak condition.
In addition to the radiator panel, we also swapped out the rusty bumper bar for a lightweight Mishimoto option. This not only contributes to the overall aesthetic of the car but also helps improve performance by reducing weight.
Upgrading the Crank Pulley
While working on the vehicle, we discovered that the bottom crank pulley was beginning to split in half. To prevent any potential damage, we replaced it with stunning GFB lightweight pulleys. These upgrades not only enhance functionality but also ensure reliability and longevity for Jamie’s WRX, allowing it to perform better on the road.
Enhanced Security Measures
Given that Jamie had experienced some unwelcome attention from thieves, he wanted to bolster the security of his car. To tackle this, we collaborated with NRG to install a quick-release steering wheel adapter along with a new steering wheel. This clever modification will deter potential thieves and add an extra layer of security, making it much harder for them to steal his prized WRX.
